I feel very honoured to say I truly love the work I do. As odd as it sounds, I like nothing more than wireframes, usability testing, visual design and just talking to people who use the products I design. Although, I feel it is really important when you are wireframing, designing or just plotting user flow around a site or app that you truly believe in your product.

When this term was first mentioned to me, I got to be honest I completely dismissed this as some cheap sales tactic used within Silicon Roundabout. It wasn’t until I had to create one for myself did I see how deeply useful this can be for any new project or idea you want to spread through-out the company.

The empathy map is a useful exercise to run through in order to build a deeper understanding of your current user base or potential target audience. A kind of high detail persona building exercise you could call it.

Understanding when there is problem is usually never difficult. Understanding the root level problem of an issue requires a little bit of structured thought. Doing this within a group not only endorses your own interpretation of root level issues it also voices other opinions and takes.

I have to admit it, I was really impressed with the first ever UX Cambridge that had it’s first day today at Clare College, Cambridge.
